The Inner Space’s Kids Yoga program is specially designed as a playful adventure story with a different theme each class. The kids practice yoga poses within the story structure and are encouraged to approach various joys and challenges through the story with curiosity, inquiry, positive thought and clear communication.

Give your child the opportunity to develop physical awareness and control, mental focus, and tools for the safe release of tension and excess emotional energy in the body!  Proper breathing is also introduced in the yoga story to develop tools for calming the mind along with a short guided relaxation at the end of each session.

Fall 2017 Session Starts Tuesday September 12th to December 19 2017 (13 classes)

(no class October 31st & November 7th)

Class time is Tuesdays 4:30pm to 5:30pm (includes 15 min class theme mandala colouring)

Investment $169.00+ HST ($13/class includes any materials)

Give your growing child the opportunity to develop physical awareness and control, mental focus, and tools for the safe release of tension and excess emotional energy in the body!  This yoga practice assists youth to practice yoga poses and learn life skills through the metaphor of the postures to cultivate curiosity, self – inquiry, positive thought, good boundaries and clear communication. Breathing Techniques are also introduced to develop tools for calming the mind and regulating the energy in the body. These are re-enforced during the Mindfulness guided relaxation at the end of the session. If your child is challenged with anxiety or depression, these yoga tools can make all the difference for life of internal balance.

The Inner Space is delighted to offer the Arts and Yoga Leadership Camp again this summer,

July 24-28 & Aug 21 – 25th 2017!

Join Tanya Porter along with Sr. assistant Karin Schrewe and Jr. assistant Jaime Pompillio, and SPECIAL GUEST ARTISTS for a well balanced adventure in developing compassionate leadership skills through drumming, drama, movement, mindfulness and yoga.  Parents are invited to a celebration program presented by the campers at the end of the week.

Time: 9am – 4pm

Location: Stouffville (Impact Dance Studios, 10 Commercial Street)

Fee: $250 + HST

Tanya Porter, (camp director) founder of The Inner Space, is a classical yoga and meditation teacher with over 20 years of experience. She is also a multi-disciplinary performing artist, educator and holistic energy practitioner specializing in over 25 years of Theatre, Drum, Dance and creative wellness programming for all ages.  Tanya developed Rhythmic Re-framing®, a healing modality that combines meditation, affirmation, boundary work and vibrational healing through drumming. She holds an RYT 500 certification from the Yoga Alliance, is a member of ACTRA and The Canadian Actor’s Equity Association, and is registered as a composer with SOCAN.

Karin Schrewe, (senior assistant) has nurtured children of all ages for over 20 years, through her home daycare program, and summer camps. She has been with the YRDSB for 15 years as a teachers aid and still enjoys the children every day! Karin continues to support students moving on to high school with her Halloween for Hunger Haunted House fundraiser, providing community hours and a way for teens to give back. She believes learning through play and hands on experiences have a positive impact on their self worth and confidence. Karin believes that curious questions are a brilliant way to learn. She encourages children to ask questions, and guides them to resolve their own conflicts.
